On the evening of Tuesday, March 23, 2004, Longmeadows best and brightest gathered to wish a fond farewell to Susan Wright.
For the past three years, the South Deerfield resident has served as Town Administrator and has garnered the accolades of her friends and co-workers alike. Best wishes for your continued success, Susan!
The truest compliment is when someone leaves a place better than when she found it. This has been the case of our Susan Wright. We will miss her, and wish her all the best.

Susan Wright has provided a great service to the Town of Longmeadow in the short time that she has been Town Administrator. She has helped guide the town through a difficult budget process, and has worked tirelessly to help streamline town services. She has always done what was in the towns best interest, even though some of these decisions may have been difficult or unpopular. She has also been able to take complex and multifaceted problems and break them down into elements so that the town could come to the most appropriate decision. Most of all, however, she has been available to respond to the needs of the citizens and the town employees in a kind, caring, and fair fashion. In difficult times, she will be remembered as someone who faced problems with clear thinking, an analytical approach, but most of all a pleasant personality. We will all miss not only her invaluable help, but also her ever-present smile.

Three years ago, when I had the fortune to meet Susan, I realized she was perfect for the job. She gave her all to the Town of Longmeadow during the short time that she was here with us. I did everything within my powers to keep Susan in Longmeadow. Sometimes things dont always work out the way you want them to. Susan certainly will be missed by everyone in the Town of Longmeadow. She had the ability to get along with everyone, and to talk with everyone. Somewhere down the line, hopefully, Susan will be back in Longmeadow. She certainly will be sorely missed.

"Susan is an articulate manager with outstanding administrative and personal skills. I treated her more as a town manager and frequently placed her in harms way knowing that she would respond appropriately. It was a sincere pleasure working with her. She is a human dynamo! We will all miss her but best of luck and we hope to see her again at our Longmeadow Door.
