The Mason Willard House, which was dismantled in 1893,
was located at this site. In that same year the Stick Style Victorian
currently at this location was constructed. The original house was
occupied by the Willard sisters; Annie Faith and Alice Hope, (alas, there
was no “Charity”.) It is said that they lived as recluses and when they
died they left a substantial fortune. The original door stone, which was a
worn mill stone, is now used as a stepping stone at the rear of the house.
